Asymptomatic Bacteriuria

Symptom-Free Pee: LET IT BE
Asymptomatic Bacteriuria in Long-Term Care Residents and Elderly Patients in Acute Care

AMMI Canada's Antimicrobial Stewardship and Resistance Committee (ASRC) has developed resources to stop inappropriate antibiotic use for asymptomatic bacteriuria in long-term care residents and (NEW) elderly patients in acute care.

The campaign aims to reach nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, pharmacists, front-line health care providers, patients, and families involved with long-term care facilities with the view to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use and promote antimicrobial stewardship in Canada.

This national initiative aims to increase awareness of antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers, and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.
